Clear images
It’s undeniable that touchscreens present clearer images. Their vivid HD resolution is supported by anti-glare glass, ensuring maximum visibility and eliminating shadows.
Projectors, on the other hand, require a darker environment, making learning more difficult. Additionally, just one chink in a curtain or blind can render a projected lesson useless.
Students are familiar with touchscreens
From phones to tablets, touchscreen technology is a huge part of children’s lives, so it makes sense that schools embrace that technology too. By integrating tech and devices that they are already familiar with, educators can then create a more personalised learning experience.

On average touchscreen boards use 290 watts of electricity. By comparison a standard projector uses 840 watts. The financial savings over 4 years, per classroom add up to nearly £1300!
Life Expectancy
We understand that education budgets are tight and sometimes the most economical option is the most attractive. So, let’s talk expendables. The average touchscreen display has a life expectancy of 50,000 hours. By comparison, a projector bulb is expected to last roughly 4,000 if the projector is properly maintained.
Easy maintenance
A touchscreen display is relatively easy to maintain and they usually come with warranties, whilst a projector may need to be regularly cleaned to remove dust build up and other potential causes of overheating.
