Site wide LED Lighting Upgrade at Offset Print & Packaging Project

Offset Print & Packaging design and manufacture high quality, bespoke printed cartons and greetings cards from their warehouse in Aylesford, Kent. They approached NCS Technology to design and install new LED Lighting to create a brighter space to enhance productivity, improve safety and reduce energy use. This would not only save money on their energy bills but also reduce their Carbon Footprint as part of their Environmental Policy. This was all carried out with the benefit of LoCASE funding.

The Solution

The existing ageing fluorescent lights within the building were failing and maintenance becoming expensive. NCS Technology provided Earlsmann Lighting LED light fittings across the site. In particular, Portsmouth non-corrosive LED light fittings in the Print areas to enhance light levels. Light fittings had to be non-UV emitting due to printing inks used in the process can cure if subjected to UV. PIR sensors were fitted in low use areas to maximise energy savings.

Benefits

The energy savings and financial savings of installing the LED Lighting were huge.

Energy use dropped by 183,677.76 Kwhs per year, saving approx. £18000 per year and 98 tons of CO2 per year.
