As champions of low carbon lighting alternatives, it made sense for NCS to support the fifth Green School Awards. The awards are designed to honour and award schools who encourage and motivate their students to take action to protect the planet.
On 13th February our Managing Director, Mike Cardno, attended the awards ceremony, which this year was held at Ashford International Hotel.
Twenty-seven schools received district awards, recognising their initiatives to improve the environment for future generations, and seven received overall county awards. Mike had the honour of presenting the awards to schools representing Dartford and Gravesham. Well done to Stone Lodge School in Dartford for winning the Best Recycling School Award for the area, and Shorne Church of England Primary School in Gravesend who were recognised as the winners of the Best Health and Wellbeing Award.
We’d also like to give a hearty round of applause to Sutton Valence Primary School in Maidstone who won Overall Energy Conservation Champion!
Well done to all the schools who also took part and were shortlisted, and to the other winners and we look forward to seeing you next year.
