NCS Technology have a long history of working with schools across Kent and the South East, so when one of our clients, The King’s School in Canterbury, told us about their Minilympics project, we had to get involved.
The Minilympics is a collaboration between Kings and Canterbury Christchurch University which delivers a day of exciting sports activities to the pupils of local primary schools.
King’s is fortunate enough to have first class sporting facilities and some hugely experienced coaches and they love sharing them with local schools and the wider community.
The team at NCS understand that advances in technology mean that children are becoming less active and are always on the lookout for sports teams and events that encourage kids to take up sport. “ This is our second year supporting the event , it’s very important in our high tech world that Children are encouraged to participate in regular exercise and in a fun and all inclusive environment”- Mike Cardno Director
The Minilympics encourages 153 year 5 students to take part in cricket sessions, field testing, and team athletics and provides the opportunity to meet Olympic sports stars. Who knows, this experience could spark the imagination and enthusiasm of the next Joe Root or Kelly Holmes to take up a new sport and become a champion.
This will be our second year sponsoring the Minilympics project and our logo will be printed on all of the t-shirts that are presented to the participating students. We hope that all the children (and adults) involved have a fantastic day and we look forward to continuing our support of this project in the future.
